Nômade Burguer

Artisanal hamburgers like Pipa has never seen! Try it and fall in love with the Nomade flavor.

Galeria Kanto da Pipa stands at number 234 on Av. Baía dos Golfinhos, at the start of the avenue, and unit 09 inside it is Nômade Burger House. It works with its own beef blend and potato buns, and the menu is organised around a house sauce that turns up in all twelve burgers. It opens seven nights a week from 5.30pm to 11pm, and the outdoor tables under their parasols are part of the plan.

What to eat

The common base

Two things repeat on every line of the menu: the potato bun and the molho nômade, the house sauce. On top goes the beef blend, which the menu states in grams — 110, 150, 220 or 330 depending on the burger — and underneath, always, 120 grams of fries: the house prints it across the header, every burger comes with chips.

The beef blend line

The Nômade House is the loaded one in the classic group: double 110-gram blend, double mozzarella and cheddar, bacon, caramelised onion and rocket. Triplo Bacon takes another route: three patties, triple cheddar, bacon and smashed onion. And the Nômade Black swaps the bun for a black one, with double blend, triple cheddar and smashed onion.

Then come the ones built around breaded cheese: the Chapadão, on a black bun, with tomato, sweet-potato crisps and breaded cheddar; the Delícia, with ketchup, smashed onion and breaded cheddar; the Tartaruga, with sweet-potato crisps and breaded catupiry; and the Canastra, with rocket, crisp bacon, breaded mineiro cheese and chilli jam.

The remaining three in the beef group change the partner: the Funghi adds funghi mushrooms, mozzarella and rocket; the Gorgonzola, mozzarella, gorgonzola and caramelised onion; and the Guacamole, cheddar, guacamole and tortilla chips.

Beyond the beef

The Nômade Camarão replaces the meat with a 160-gram prawn patty, with mozzarella, gorgonzola and rocket, served with rustic potatoes instead of fries. The Nômade Frango carries a 130-gram chicken patty — grilled or breaded, your choice — with lettuce, tomato, egg, catupiry and caramelised onion.

To share

Batata Nômade is 250 grams of fries with bacon, cheddar or catupiry, spring onion and the house sauce. And the Nômade Sticks are 130 grams of breaded mozzarella sticks, dipped in that same sauce.

The house also lists vegetarian options, organic dishes, small plates and dessert.

What to drink

There is a bar on site, and the drinks list matches the format: alcoholic drinks, spirits, beer, cocktails and wine. The caipirinha is what you see most on the outdoor tables, and beer is the direct partner for a blend burger.

There are soft drinks too: the house photos show a lemonade in a tall glass on the counter, with the Pipa map mural behind it. The counter takes orders directly, so you can order standing while you wait for a table.

The room

The house calls itself casual, lively and relaxed, and the gallery explains how the three fit together. The counter is a lit front with the menu boards above it, the Nômade Burger House logo, and a mural of palm trees and a map of Pipa running along the wall. That is your landmark for finding the unit inside the gallery.

Outside, yellow tables and chairs are set out on the cobbles under parasols strung with lights: that is the part that fills first. Inside there is seating, a counter and waiter service.

There is a bathroom and a gender-neutral bathroom, a bar and free wi-fi. The house is listed as a place that welcomes the LGBTQ+ community and as a safe space for transgender people, and it has a private space for events.

When to go

Nômade opens all seven days of the week, always 5.30pm to 11pm. It never takes a day off, which makes it a safe bet on a Monday or a Tuesday, when part of the village rests.

There is no lunch here. The kitchen starts at half past five in the afternoon, so this house belongs to the evening. Coming off the beach at three, it is not the answer; at seven, when nobody has decided where to eat, it is.

The easiest window for an outdoor table runs from 5.30 to 7pm: the gallery has just opened and the parasol tables are free. From 7.30 to 9.30pm is the peak, and that is when a booking earns its keep. After 9.30pm the pace drops and tables come free again.

If the plan is delivery, keep one number in mind: deliveries stop at 10.45pm, fifteen minutes before the room closes. For a late dinner at the flat, get the order in before then.

Where it is and how to get there

The unit sits inside Galeria Kanto da Pipa, Av. Baía dos Golfinhos 234, unit 09, in central Pipa. It marks the start of the avenue, so you can walk here from anywhere in the village, and from the path down to Praia da Pipa it is a few minutes.

If you drive, parking in this stretch is paid and on-street, and the avenue fills up in high season: leave the car further back and finish on foot. Wheelchair-accessible parking is declared. Arriving from Natal, look at the transfer options.

And if the plan is to eat at your lodging, the house does takeaway, delivery and online ordering.

With children, with a dog and in a wheelchair

The house is listed as good for kids and adds high chairs and a kids' menu. The menu helps: the Delícia and the Tartaruga are straightforward, the mozzarella sticks work on their own, and fries come with everything.

Dogs are allowed and may stay in the outdoor area, which here means the gallery tables under the parasols: exactly where you want to sit with a dog beside you.

On accessibility this listing is unusually complete. Wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, bathroom and parking are all four declared, plus something that barely appears anywhere in Pipa: a hearing loop for anyone using a hearing aid. There is a gender-neutral bathroom too.

Who it suits

The table that wants dinner without planning it: open seven days, a block from everything, and a menu you can read in a minute.

Anyone travelling with a dog: they are allowed at the outdoor tables, which are also the ones that fill first.

Families with children: high chairs, a kids' menu and simple burgers on the same list as the loaded ones.

Anyone in a wheelchair or using a hearing aid: this is one of the few places in the village with all four accessibility attributes declared and a hearing loop installed.

And anyone eating alone: the house lists itself as good for solo diners, with a counter and direct service at the front.
